The Blade is the most common motorbike in Vietnam
The Honda semi-automatic is the most common motorbike type in Vietnam. Cheap to buy, cheap to maintain, and cheap to run with excellent gas efficiency. Drive-up the mountains into remote terrain, and Honda semi-automatics will be seen everywhere. Indestructible machines that can handle anything thrown at them.
The Blade never breaks down
Tigit’s warranty against breakdowns combined with only one oil change every 1000km means the Honda Blade should work out similar or on many occasions cheaper than trying to buy and sell a cheap backpacker motorbike! These are real Honda motorcycles, not Chinese copies that are found in the backpacker area.
The Blade has plenty of power
The Blade has enough power to carry two people and luggage across Vietnam without skipping a beat. Tigit offers more exciting motorbikes, but there is no need to get anything bigger or more powerful than these reliable and affordable machines.
The Honda Blade is easy to drive
Learning the basics of simple gear changes can be taught within 5 minutes. Please watch this video for more information on how to drive a semi-automatic.
The Honda Blade 110cc Rack
The pictures in the gallery are with an Enduristan 82L bag. The Blade comes equipped with an extended Givi Rack with a specification of 7KG maximum. They often break at the connection point under the seat (shown in the pictures). It is easy to weld these on route for around 2.5usd. It is essential to mount the bag as far forward as possible using the seat for support. The Blade can handle two people and luggage across any road in Vietnam. However, it is perhaps not the best motorbike for the job. Bags are best mounted horizontally not length ways, keeping the bag as far forward as possible.
Hi
There are 2 of us looking to rent a 110cc Honda blade each to travel from Ho Chi Minh to Danang. We are looking to depart from Ho Chi Minh on Friday the 17th of November.
Kind regards
Shane Murphy
The Blade is

$150 rent within 10 days
$250 rent within 35 days
An email has been sent with more information,
Hi,
I’m arriving in Ho Chi Minh city on November 14th and I was looking into the 35 day bike rental program, HCM Hanoi, but I wasn’t aware of the international drivers permit (just read comment below) and I wouldn’t be able to procure it in time. I was wondering if it would still be possible for me to rent a bike for the 35 day program, without the IDP?
Thank you,
Wei
p.s. US citizen, US drivers license
It is fine to rent from us, but it means any insurance you may have is invalid.
I have a sent an email with further information.
Good evening, I am just enquiring about renting a Honda Blade 110CC for my son Darcy who will be travelling in Vietnam later this year. He would need the motorbike for around 20 days from Thursday December 21 (pick up HCM) to Tuesday January 9 (drop off Hanoi). Is it possible to pay the deposit of $500 in advance with my credit card to guarantee a motorbike, leaving him only to pay the $250 rent when he picks up the motorbike? Also is it possible for Darcy to get a motorbike license in HCM before he rents the motorbike?
Kind Regards
Julene Bednall
Will send an email with more information.
Credit cards are normal and possible.
To drive legally he needs a license from home + international drivers permit.
It is not possible to obtain a Vietnamese license as a traveller.
Hey, I emailed a couple of months ago about a blade ‘buyback’ plan. My wife and I will be in HCM next week and would like to both travel on 1 bike, we have 2x 40L backpacks and 2 small rucksacks. Do you have a bike with a rack big enough for us? We are British but built like Asians so not too heavy! Let me know and we will send a deposit over to secure our bike! Thanks
I would recommend the Honda XR for 2 people.
The backup would be the Honda Winner, but we are out of stock of those.
The Blade can do the job, but I think you would need to get the luggage down a bit.
Email sent with more information.
Hi
I’m interested in a buy to sell back Honda blade for approximately the first week in November. My question is what is the absolute total I will pay when the deal is all over and done. I want to use the bike for a 2 months.
Also, when will you need the $100 deposit?
If I’m doing the buyback plan will I need to leave a deposit being cash and or passport or not.
Hope to hear back soon.
Hugh Lozina
The Blade is
$500 deposit
$250 rent within 35 days
$300 rent within 60 days.
The deposit is request in advance to guarantee a motorbike. This contributes towards the final amount.
With the above deposit we do not need a passport.
In terms of final price: Gas is around 5usd a day
Oil changes every 1000km at 5usd (around 1/2 in a full journey).
Credit card fees if you choose to pay this way, around $10-20
Hope that helps.
