The Blade is the most common motorbike in Vietnam
The Honda semi-automatic is the most common motorbike type in Vietnam. Cheap to buy, cheap to maintain, and cheap to run with excellent gas efficiency. Drive-up the mountains into remote terrain, and Honda semi-automatics will be seen everywhere. Indestructible machines that can handle anything thrown at them.
The Blade never breaks down
Tigit’s warranty against breakdowns combined with only one oil change every 1000km means the Honda Blade should work out similar or on many occasions cheaper than trying to buy and sell a cheap backpacker motorbike! These are real Honda motorcycles, not Chinese copies that are found in the backpacker area.
The Blade has plenty of power
The Blade has enough power to carry two people and luggage across Vietnam without skipping a beat. Tigit offers more exciting motorbikes, but there is no need to get anything bigger or more powerful than these reliable and affordable machines.
The Honda Blade is easy to drive
Learning the basics of simple gear changes can be taught within 5 minutes. Please watch this video for more information on how to drive a semi-automatic.
The Honda Blade 110cc Rack
The pictures in the gallery are with an Enduristan 82L bag. The Blade comes equipped with an extended Givi Rack with a specification of 7KG maximum. They often break at the connection point under the seat (shown in the pictures). It is easy to weld these on route for around 2.5usd. It is essential to mount the bag as far forward as possible using the seat for support. The Blade can handle two people and luggage across any road in Vietnam. However, it is perhaps not the best motorbike for the job. Bags are best mounted horizontally not length ways, keeping the bag as far forward as possible.

Hi and thanks for a great website and video. I am arriving into Ho Chi MIn 14/03/2017 for my first visit to Vietnam. I will most likely take the train to Danang or onto Hanoi. I have a 30 day tourist visa and am travelling solo. I am not sure what is best whether I should try to rent a bike in Danang and ride to Hanoi to tour the northern region of Vietnam or rent a bike in Hanoi and spend more time in the north. I love mountain scenery, but not sure what is best. Do you have any suggestions? Also would you have a motorbike available for rent approximately from 20/03/17 to 13/04/2017? I hope to come back in future, so what I miss this time around will try to complete another time. Thanks for your assistance.
Hello again. Just had some great ideas from Tom at Vietnam Coracle on riding a motor bike. Do you have a motorbike available for pickup in Danang on 19/03/2017 and dropping off latest 13/04/2017? Thanks.
Thanks for all the feedback. Good to see Tom is still recommending us.
I have replied to you in more detail on emails.
I want to buy a bike with guaranteed buyback. Will use locally in Quy Nhon. Interested in using for approx 9 months- a year.
This is possible and an email has been sent with further information.
Hello
I would like to make reservation for buying one of Honda Blade bikes during 12.-22. January for buyback as solo traveler. Pick up location would be Danang and drop off location would be Ho Chi Minh. Are there still some bikes available ? When would be best to pay deposit?
Thanks in advance,
Erik
All sounds good.
